First kaiseki for wife & I so were intimidated but the team of 5-chefs at Gion Karyo made it a very relaxing & unforgettable moment for us. They made my honeymoon very very special.Just the 2 of us at lunch (virus probably caused that) and Gion Karyo prepared the 9-course meal masterfully. I'd say 4 were extremely good, 5 were good. But everything was super fresh. Served beautifully.The chefs were super friendly, accommodating, explained clearly how to eat the elaborate dishes. Exchanged a bit of chat with us without being overbearing. The service was just outstanding.The place itself is intimate & calming, with a small garden at the back. Overall an unforgettable experience. Thank you Gion Karyo!

Delicious food and fantastic atmosphere! Your food is being prepared in front of you and it’s absolutely to die for. The staff is super friendly and we even joked around with the chefs - really funny guys! Need to reserve in advance and it’s def a pricey meal.
